Link has enjoyed a lifetime of Bulldogs. He is the oldest son of well-known Bulldoggers Bob and Brenda Newcomb who acquired their first Bulldog shortly before Link was born. As a kid in Oklahoma, Link helped raise a lot of puppies. As an adult in California, Link has been an active member since the early 90s of the Bulldog Club of America (BCA) and the Pacific Coast Bulldog Club (PCBC). Link is a past President of both Clubs, having served BCA as its National President for the 2018-2019 term. Link has also been the National Treasurer twice, chaired both the Audit and Long-Range Planning Committees and been BCA’s AKC Delegate since his father’s retirement in 2020. Link has also served BCA’s Division III as President for several terms and as a Councilor since 2008. For PCBC, in addition to serving a term as President, Link has also been a Board member and Treasurer for many years and was the Show Chair for the 2012 BCA National hosted by PCBC in Costa Mesa, California.
Link is a member of the BCA Breeders Hall of Fame and is just two champions away from the first plateau of 25 champions. He has also finished many dogs that he did not breed, including GCHP Irresistibull Winter Is Coming of Danditops who in 2021 was the number one Bulldog (all systems), a BCA Hall of Fame sire and Best of Opposite Sex at the BCA National Show in 2022. Link also owned two other dogs in the BCA Hall of Fame, Ch. Imperious Fearless of Risk (stud dog with 10 or more champions), and Ch. Coastbulls Mytemugshot Checkers (brood bitch with 4 or more champions). He has been approved to judge Bulldogs since 2002, having judged specialty shows all over the US, including doing Best of Breed at a BCA National Show backup in 2014. He’s also judged twice in Mexico, and in 2023 he judged the Bulldog National Show in Brisbane, Australia.
