It is always so exciting to attend our BCA National every year to see beautiful bulldogs. However, it is more electrifying to be asked to judge the Best in Sweeps! I would have never dreamed I would have this honor! Thank you for the invitation!
My introduction to the breed began when I met the love of my life, Randy Jenkins. At that point he owned a bulldog female named “Lila Mae.” She was an incredibly special girl in our lives. As a pet, I was able to appreciate the breed in all its qualities. When she passed, we researched to obtain a healthy bulldog. In 2008, we adopted “Sally Mae” and unknowingly became our first show dog. Sally accomplished so much in the ring and whelping box. She gave us beautiful babies, and several became champions, and she was inducted into the Hall of Fame Bitches through BCA. One of her daughters, “Chula” sired by “Kingston the Bull” championed and five of her pups championed making her a Hall of Fame Bitch as well. Sally’s success spearheaded our commitment to the breed and show career. We established our kennel name as Frontrunner Bulldogs.
Our success in our breeding program, enabled us to be inducted into the Hall of Fame Breeders. Our puppies have done well in the show ring but most importantly they have added much love to families that have been adopted in forever homes.
We also had the opportunity to campaign top winning dogs, “Don Juan” and “Gambler” to make them highly ranked in the AKC rankings. This year we have been fortunate to put “Hazel” as the number one bulldog in breed standing and 35 BISS as of this month in September. One of the most humbling recognitions I obtained was “Owner Handler of the Year” in 2018 during ceremonies before Westminster Dog Show. It was truly special since it was voted by my peers and exhibitor colleagues.
I have dedicated my time as well to the BCA Division IV as governor and Vice President for several years. I was also Vice President of BCA for a term as well. I am currently a member of the Austin Bulldog Club and serve as hospitality Boss Man!
I wish everyone exhibiting at the 2025 National best luck and have fun!
