Ken Calloway
I’m Kenneth Calloway of Kenacy Grand Bulldogs. I am married with five children ranging from college age to elementary school. For over 20 years, I have worked as a special education teacher specializing in Autism Spectrum Disorder, dedicating my career to supporting students and families.
A proud and dedicated member of the Detroit Bulldog Club for many years, I am also a member of the Bulldog Club of America and previously held membership with the Toledo Bulldog Club. My introduction to the world of dog shows came through Shelly Segal, whom I met at a show. Not long after, I was invited by breeder Judge Jack Segal to join his handling class, and soon after that, I was stepping into the ring myself.
I became truly passionate about dog showing in 2007, while simultaneously working toward my Master’s degree, raising a young family, teaching, and coaching high school football. My first show dog came from Dr. Wilson of Knightstown, Indiana—a bitch who went on to earn her championship and achieve Hall of Fame status. CH Loch Lomond Elizabeth not only finished her championship but also produced five champions of her own. I have been blessed to have met so many helpful people along my journey in bulldogs, which means a lot.
In 2012, I was deeply honored to be inducted into the Breeders, Bulldog Club of America Hall of Fame. Since then, Kenacy Grand Bulldogs has finished multiple champions, including multiple Best in Specialty Show winners.
Though family life and raising young children required me to occasionally step back from the show ring, I always stayed connected to and up to date with the bulldog community. My passion goes beyond simply showing dogs—I love watching great dogs in the ring. While competing is a thrill, it is also hard work, and I find just as much joy in being a spectator.
Outside of dogs and teaching, I enjoy watching Michigan high school football, Boxing and following the Pittsburgh Steelers.
