If you know me, you know that my life is an open book.
Some of the most exciting pages are written about bulldogs with love, laughter, friendship, camaraderie, compassion, kindness, shopping, coffee and maybe some wine.
In 1992, I fell in love with my sister Mary’s bulldog Clark: Ch Philsands Blazing Star, while vacationing in Florida.
This dog was majestic, resolute and beautiful. I watched him in the show ring and he was having a blast strutting his stuff. After he warmed up to me, he offered me all the love he had and I was hooked. I decided I needed one of these buddies to be a member of my family. It is a decision I have never regretted.
My husband Ed and I have three autistic children and they love our bulldogs. My R&R is to go to a dog show for the weekend and play with my bullies and to spend time with my bulldog friends. I have made many, many close friends across the US and all around the world. They are friends of my heart and mind. Just like our breed, incredible fantastic loyal and fun. And, we all share the same addiction — Bulldogs.
I have been blessed to have incredible mentors. My sister Mary (Cook) Boylan, Darlene Stuedemann, Liz Karshner, Connie Chambers and especially, Dara Carr.
Along with these, incredible bloodlines that have turned into 20+ Champions, including GCH Ace N Glendars I’m A Firework, “Boom”, BCA HOF Stud Dog, Platinum Ambassador For Health, BOB winner backup show in ’14 Denver, CO., and his son, GCHB Ace N Glendars I’m A Playboy. “Hugh” was BCA National Winners Dog in 2016 and was Select Dog at the prequel Show in 2017 and BOS at the first backup show.
In 2017, I was honored to be inducted as a BCA Hall of Fame Breeder. I am the current President of the Chicago Bulldog Club and Vice President of BCA Division II, where I also have served as a past Councilor and Ad Hoc Chairman. Past Vice President of Corn Belt Kennel Club, stepping down last year.
